Healing Starts Here

She came to Muskegon Rescue Mission heartbroken and in despair, struggling to replace the lies repeating in her head —she’s not good enough, she doesn’t deserve another chance, there’s no way out.

Everyone has some brokenness in their past. Whether it’s from choices made or circumstances beyond their control, sometimes they find themselves so broken they don’t know how things could ever be restored.

Psalm 34:18 NIV reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

She made the first step to healing when she walked through our door. She found MRM was a place of refuge where she could get her life on track. She learned her journey is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. She discovered it doesn’t matter what she’s done, what lies hidden in her past or how unworthy she feels; she doesn’t have to live in brokenness. She opened her heart to the Lord, and He picked up the pieces and made her whole.

She’s grateful time spent at MRM has helped her look at life from a new perspective. Although she’s changed, she recognizes God is still working. Through God’s unfailing love, He has turned her tears into laughter and her sorrows into joy. She would like Mission donors to know their generosity fills hearts with hope. Healing starts here!
