Nearly 19% of Muskegon County residents live below the poverty line. Making ends meet is a struggle for many of our neighbors. MRM’s Community Ministries program is designed to help families make ends meet which may allow them to remain in their own home. Food, clothing, household goods, and furniture is provided to families in need throughout West Michigan.
MRM meets the needs of our neighbors with a weekly food pantry and with gift certificates to our thrift stores. We start with a brief devotional and a prayer of thanks for the provisions to meet the needs.
During the summer months, we have many families with children who come to our food pantry. Their children receive a free lunch at school during the academic year but stretched finances may not allow for nutritious meals when they’re home for the summer.
All the food given away in our pantry is donated. Last year MRM provided over 111,000 meals. Because of your generosity, we are able to meet the needs of our hurting neighbors.
