Muskegon Rescue Mission, Muskegon MI, Muskegon County, Tamea Williams, Access health, MRM Testimonial, MRM VolunteerWhen people walk into the Community Resource Center, they often carry more than one need—housing, health insurance, transportation, or simply the confusion of where to begin. Tamea Williams is there as a Community Health Worker from Access Health to walk alongside them through each step.

Tamea explains, “I’m here at the Community Resource Center to provide just a guidance to individuals in the community meeting further connections to resources.”

Tamea doesn’t just share information; she works one-on-one with individuals over time. She meets with people weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, whatever is needed, helping them navigate complex systems and follow through on every step required to reach their goals.

“Some people just need that guidance,” she says.

As a community health worker, Tamea helps individuals understand health insurance, complete housing applications, and overcome barriers that often stop progress halfway. Her role is deeply relational, meeting people where they are and helping them move forward at a pace that works for them.

“It’s really so fulfilling,” Tamea shares. “Seeing the outcome of individuals, reaching those goals, it’s really wonderful.”

Through patience, consistency, and advocacy, Tamea and Access Health help turn overwhelming systems into achievable next steps, creating real, lasting change in the community.
