Muskegon Rescue Mission aspires to share Christ’s love and disciple the underprivileged children in our community. This area of ministry targets children who are currently staying at the mission or who have stayed at the mission in the past.
Our children’s ministry provides a combination of curriculum, activities, summer camp programs, Bible study, mentoring, recreation and academic support. The Lighthouse Room (LHR) is open year-round. During the summer and school vacations, school-aged children are included in the childcare activities. Activities are designed to be age and developmentally appropriate. Through these programs, children are introduced to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We desire to demonstrate to the children that they are loved by our Father in Heaven and that He cares for each one of us by the way that we treat them. We recognize that many of the children in our care have needs that are unique to their situation. We believe that providing care for children means addressing all areas of development: social, emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual. Our hope is to help children successfully live out Biblical principles. Thanks to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and thoughtfully designed programs, children thrive at the mission.
