  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Must possess excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be in active fellowship with a local evangelical church.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

Childcare Coordinator
  • Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with shelter guests, volunteers and co-workers as opportunities arise.
  • Providing physical, emotional and spiritual care for resident children, including discipline and instruction.
  • Preparing and implementing Christian-centered curriculum and activities for children preschool through age 17 as needed.
  • Supporting and mentoring mothers within the shelter.
  • Organizing and implementing annual summer camp program for shelter resident children.
  • Coordinating field trips and children’s events.
  • MUST have educational background in early childhood development, or minimum 3 years experience working with children in a professional setting.
  • Part-time (25 hours/week) position.
Cook ~ Women’s/Family Shelter 
  • Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with shelter guests, volunteers and co-workers as opportunities arise.
  • Planning menus and shopping in an organized, cost efficient manner.
  • Preparing all meals for Women’s/Family Shelter guests and walk-ins.
  • Keeping kitchen, pantry and freezer rooms clean and well organized.
  • Maintaining food storage areas in an organized and sanitary manner.
  • Supervising and instructing those who are helping with food preparation and service.
  • Knowing and following the regulations regarding food service and food service safety as required by the health department.
  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts preferred, or equivalent experience in food service.
  • MUST be ServSafe certified, or be willing to be certified.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with large quantity cooking.
  • Part-time (28 hours/week) position
Receiving Staff 
  • Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with customers, volunteers and co-workers as opportunities arise.
  • Receiving gift-in-kind store donations.
  • Testing, pricing, sorting and distributing goods to sales floor.
  • Assisting truck driver with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Daily store maintenance, both inside and outside.
  • Performing accurate handling of sales transactions as needed.
  • Retail store experience preferred.
  • MUST be able to lift 50 pounds routinely, occasionally 80 – 100 pounds, and be able to climb ladders.
  • Part-time (24 hours/week) position with regular Saturday rotation.
Childcare Coordinator Assistant
  • Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with shelter guests, volunteers and co-workers as opportunities arise.
  • Assisting the Childcare Coordinator in providing physical, educational and spiritual care for resident children.
  • Assisting the Childcare Coordinator with organizing and implementing annual summer camp program for shelter resident children.
  • Assisting the Childcare Coordinator with coordinating field trips and events.
  • Part-time (25 hours/week) TEMPORARY SEASONAL position, involving weekends as necessary.
Women’s/Family Shelter Supervisor
  • Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with shelter guests, volunteers and co-workers as opportunities arise.
  • Providing physical, emotional and spiritual assistance to women and children staying in shelter
  • Performing new guest intakes
  • Attending daily chapel and teaching Bible study lessons as needed
  • Maintaining security of the shelter
  • Supervising meals and preparation of meals in cook’s absence.
  • Part-time (24 hours/week) with rotating weekends and holidays required
Cashier
  • Share your faith and pray with customers, volunteers and coworkers as opportunities arise
  • Greet and assist customers
  • Perform accurate sales transactions using electronic devices, as well as cash
  • Assist in pricing and display of items
  • Assist in cleaning of store areas
  • Assist with sorting, hanging, stocking sales floor
  • Must have a high school diploma, along with retail store experience
  • Must possess computer skills
  • 24 hours/week with every other Saturday required
Men’s Discipleship Supervisor
  • Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with guests, volunteers and co-workers as needed.
  • Attending to discipleship guest needs by providing physical, emotional and spiritual assistance.
  • Planning and overseeing day-to-day activities of Discipleship Program men.
  • Teaching Bible study lessons and life skills.
  • Transporting Discipleship Program guests to appointments using mission van.
  • Maintaining security of the shelter.
  • Assisting Discipleship Program Manager with group outings and events.
  • Part-time (24 hours/week) position, including rotating weekend shifts.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, along with current vehicle insurance.
