Qualifications for all the following positions include, but are not limited to:

  • A strong work ethic and a heart for those less fortunate.
  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Must possess excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be in active fellowship with a local evangelical church.

Available Positions

Childcare Coordinator

Responsibilities :

  • Provide physical, emotional and spiritual care for shelter resident children
  • Organize and plan weekly activities for shelter children
  • Provide discipline and instruction
  • Implement preschool Bible curriculum and help shelter children of all ages learn Biblical truth
  • Support and mentor mothers within our family shelter program
  • Prepare age appropriate materials for school-aged children for nightly chapel and school breaks
  • Maintain Lighthouse Room area for resident children
  • Coordinate field trips, children’s events and summer camp

Characteristics required:

  • Must be a mature, born-again Christian and be active in a local evangelical church
  • Must have conflict resolution skills and knowledge of children’s safety issues
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Must have a passion and love for working with children, along with patience and energy to interact with all ages
  • Must have an educational background in early childhood development
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with children
 
Childcare Coordinator Assistant

This position is seasonal-temporary, from May – early September.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist Childcare Coordinator with Summer Camp. Tasks include camper registration, completion of paperwork, securing camp supplies, camper transportation and camper emergencies.
  • Assist Childcare Coordinator with providing instruction that helps shape habits, attitudes, knowledge and understanding of behavior
  • Promote spiritual and social growth in children
  • Assist Childcare Coordinator in caring for children staying in the shelter
  • Assist Childcare Coordinator with coordination of field trips and other events. Accompany Childcare Coordinator on field trips and assist at events.

Qualifications :

  • Must be a mature, born-again Christian and an active member of a local evangelical church
  • Must have legal driver’s license
  • Must have compassion for children who are experiencing homelessness from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities

Men’s Shelter Supervisor

Part-Time Position
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Caring for our guests with kindness and compassion and treating them with dignity and respect.
  • Being a godly example to our guests.
  • Overseeing guest activities and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Women’s Shelter Supervisor

Part-Time Position
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Caring for our guests with kindness and compassion and treating them with dignity and respect.
  • Being a godly example to our guests.
  • Overseeing guest activities and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
