Linda serves at Love City Church of Muskegon and comes to Muskegon Rescue Mission to lead chapel for women. Her heart is simple and intentional: to bring hope, encouragement, and love through the Word of God.

I COME IN EVERY FOURTH WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH, AND BRING A LESSON TO THE WOMEN TO ENCOURAGE THEM, TO UPLIFT THEM, TO GIVE THEM A MESSAGE OF HOPE.”

Each night begins with welcome and celebration, reminding women that their lives matter and that God is still present in every season.

“As long as you got breath in your body, this is a good day that the Lord has made.”

Linda believes her presence at the Mission is a calling placed on her life, an opportunity to reach people beyond the church walls.

I BELIEVE THIS IS MY ASSIGNMENT, TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO BANDAGE UP THEIR WOUNDS.”

Her approach to chapel is relational and Spirit-led. She invites participation, testimony, worship, and creativity, creating space for women to feel seen, valued, and loved.

“I want to do something different, to make people feel like, hey, somebody cares. Somebody loves me.”

Linda has witnessed lives change through prayer and persistence. She recalls praying with women for stable housing, and seeing God answer.

“That was one of the greatest testimonies I had so far.”

She prepares intentionally for every visit, praying and fasting so that God is glorified.

I PREP FOR IT. I PRAY FOR IT. I FAST FOR IT. SO GOD CAN GET THE GLORY.”

To Linda, volunteering is about planting seeds, trusting God to bring growth.

“All God wants is your willingness. And He would do the rest.”
